This Privacy Policy explains how BeHere collects, uses, stores and protects personal data in the app and on the website. This is a draft and will be revised before the official launch.
1. Our commitment
BeHere was created to support moments of connection, faith and family routine. Because we work with families and children, we treat privacy and security as priorities.
We collect only the data necessary to operate the service, personalize the experience, protect the account, improve the app, support users and comply with legal obligations.
2. Who can use BeHere
A BeHere account must be created and managed by a responsible adult. Children should not create their own accounts or submit information without the supervision and authorization of the guardian.
When registering a child, sending photos, filling in preferences or using personalized features, the guardian declares that they have authorization to provide this information.
3. Data we may collect
We may collect data you provide directly, such as name, email, password, guardian’s name, login data, child profile data, age or age range, avatar, preferences, interests and app settings.
We may also collect information related to your use of the service, such as stories accessed, progress, favorites, ratings, achievements, streaks, answered questions, prayer requests, prayers marked as answered, subscription records, plan type and technical device data.
In the Character Plan or in personalized features, we may collect descriptions, interests and photos of the child, always with the specific authorization of the guardian.
4. How we use data
We use data to create and maintain your account, register child profiles, deliver stories and content appropriate to the age range, personalize the experience, unlock features according to the purchased plan, record progress, maintain achievements, process subscriptions and provide support.
We may also use data to improve security, prevent abuse, fix errors, analyze performance, send important notifications and develop new features.
When content is generated with the support of artificial intelligence, the data provided by the guardian may be used to create personalized stories, images, narrations, questions and experiences within BeHere.
5. Children’s data
Children’s data is treated with special care. We collect only what is necessary to deliver the family experience offered by BeHere, such as name or nickname, age range, preferences, avatar and information provided by the guardian.
Children’s photos, when used, are processed only for specific personalization features and depend on the guardian’s authorization. The guardian may stop using features that require photos and continue using the available features according to the purchased plan.
We do not sell children’s data and we do not use children’s data for third-party behavioral advertising.
6. Artificial intelligence
BeHere may use artificial intelligence services to generate stories, images, narrations, questions, prayers and other personalized content.
When data is sent for processing by artificial intelligence, we will adopt measures to limit its use to the stated purpose, reduce unnecessary data and protect personal information, especially photos and children’s data.
Content generated by artificial intelligence may be reviewed, adjusted, refused or removed to preserve the safety, quality and purpose of the app.
7. Prayer journal
The Prayer Journal allows you to record requests, answers and family memories. This information may reveal personal, family or spiritual aspects and should be entered with care.
We use this information to display the prayer history in the app, allow requests to be organized and record gamification interactions related to the feature.
You can delete prayer requests whenever you wish, according to the options available in the app.
8. Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions may be processed by the App Store, Google Play or another authorized platform. These platforms may process payment, purchase, renewal, cancellation and refund data according to their own policies.
BeHere may receive the information needed to validate the purchased plan, such as subscription identifiers, status, validity period, plan type and platform of origin. We do not store full credit card data when payment is made through external stores or platforms.
9. Notifications
We may send notifications about available stories, routine reminders, achievements, streaks, prayer requests, app news, subscriptions and important security or privacy messages.
You can manage notification permissions in your device settings or within the app, when available.
10. Data sharing
We may share data with providers necessary to operate BeHere, such as hosting, database, authentication, storage, notification delivery, usage analytics, artificial intelligence, audio generation, support and subscription processing.
These providers must process the data only for the contracted purposes and in accordance with security measures appropriate to the nature of the information.
We may also share data when necessary to comply with the law, an order from a competent authority, protect rights, investigate abuse or preserve the security of the service and its users.
11. Security
We adopt technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
These measures may include authentication, access control, encryption, protected storage, monitoring, permission limits and review of internal processes.
Despite our efforts, no system is completely immune to risks. We therefore also recommend that you protect your password, keep your device secure and not share your account.
12. Retention and deletion
We keep personal data for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, protect rights, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and maintain essential account records.
You can request account deletion through the available channels. After the request, personal data will be deleted, anonymized or kept only when there is a legal obligation, a security need or another applicable legitimate basis.
Some data, such as subscription records kept by app stores, may continue to be processed by the respective platforms according to their own rules.
13. Your rights
You may request access, correction, updating, deletion, portability, information about data use, review of consents and other requests provided for by applicable law.
When processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent. Withdrawal may limit or prevent the use of features that depend on that data, such as features with photos and AI personalization.
14. Cookies and similar technologies
On the website, we may use cookies or similar technologies for operation, security, access measurement, navigation improvement and performance analysis.
You can set your browser to block cookies, but this may affect some features of the website.
15. Changes to this policy
This Policy may be updated to reflect changes in BeHere, features, providers, security practices, legal requirements or data processing methods.
Relevant changes will be communicated through the app, the website or other available channels. Privacy questions: contato@behere.app.
